  • Overall Performance: Cellular glass is lightweight, rigid, durable, and is fabricated from closed-cell glass which makes it impermeable to water and prohibits water migration. The product is non-combustible, which means there is zero flame spread or smoke developed. It does not promote metal corrosion, and its moisture resistance prevents water from reaching equipment and piping.
  • Physical Characteristics: Cellular Glass is dimensionally stable, water-tight, vapor-impermeable, corrosion-resistant, non-combustible, rot- and insect-resistant, and has high compressive strength.
  • Temperature Range: The service temperature ranges from cryogenic/cold [-450° F (-268° C)] to hot [900° F (482° C)].
  • Environmentally Safe & Friendly: FOAMGLAS® is free of CFC’s and HCFC’s. It is ecologically friendly and is a sustainable construction material.
  • Fabricated Products: Distribution International has invested heavily into FOAMGLAS® fabrication capabilities and uses state-of-the-art CNC technology to manufacture the largest tank head insulation tiles in the industry. This service reduces field installation time and cost. DI also has CNC fitting fabrication equipment that reduces lead times and improves quality. We lead the industry in fabricating pipe cover and curved segments using 36" block, which decreases installation time by approximately 33% when compared to standard 24" block.
  • Reduced Labor Cost: DI fabricated products eliminate in-field fabrication time and cost, allowing you to focus on installation.
  • Applications: Pipe Insulation, Fitting Insulation, Tank Heads, Equipment insulation, Chilled Water Piping, Hot Oil and Asphalt Storage Tanks, LNG Plants, Industrial, Commercial, Petrochemical, Chemical Plants, Refineries, Steam Electric Power Plants, and Power Generation.
